American Idol: Megan is going home tomorrow...

I know my track record of guessing who's going home is terrible...but after tonight there is no doubt that Megan Joy Corkrey deserves to go home.  I'm a Megan fan...love her vibe and soulful voice but her performance this evening was just painful to hear.  Bob Marley would not be happy.  It's too bad she didn't pick a song that better suited her.  

Here's what I thought about the other contestants...

Anoop Desai -- I thought he added his own twist to the Usher song.  I thought his performance was ok.  the judges weren't so king.  "Utter mess", Simon commented.  After hearing all the performances, he did not stand out tonight. 

Danny Gokey --He was good.  He always gives a solid performance in my opinion...but after an hour of his performance..I've already forgotten what he sang. 

Allison Iraheta --I really enjoyed her performance.  I thought she did a great job.  The judges were not so kind with her outfit.  Randy thought it was distracting.  I didn't care for her outfit either but I was distracted by her vocals...this girl can sing.

Scott MacIntyre --What a pretty voice!  I really enjoyed watching his performance this week.  He kept it simple...he let the piano and his voice do the work...and it payed-off.  Scott is not going anywhere this week.

Matt Giraud --I thought the judges were really tough on Matt this week.  I agree with Matt -I think he can do more than R&B...although, I do like him better when he taps into his soulful side.

Lil Rounds --I didn't love the song for her and neither did the judges.  I agree 100% with the judges' comments...the song felt "old", not youthful.  Even the outfit and make-up felt really grown-up.  She has to go back to what made her stand-out in the beginning...R&B and great vocals.  She doesn't have to prove she can sing a Celine Dion song.

Adam Lambert --I love that he takes risks.  Adam could easily be the next American Idol.  Tonight, I think he left most contestants in the dust.

Kris Allen --This cute boy is super talented.  I thought he was boring last week...but he stood out from the bunch this evening.  I'm loving the talented boys on the keyboard and piano.  

American Idol sends home tonight...

Michael Sarver.  He's talented...but not the next American Idol...for sure.

I'm pleasantly surprised Megan didn't go home this week.  I really like her whole vibe.  I hope she picks a better song next week so she can show-off her talent.

Live Blogging: American Idol

Matt Giraud --I still can't tell if he's cute or not but tonight it didn't matter.  I really enjoyed his performance.  I like that he can play the piano...he started there and then worked the stage and hit those high notes.  Go Matt!

Kris Allen --I thought his performance was a little boring...kinda blah.

Scott MacIntyre -- I liked that he went with a more lively choice this week...but I still didn't love it.

Megan Joy Corkrey -- Overall, I really like her voice...it's really different...but I think she struggled with some notes tonight.  The judges thought it was...awful.

Anoop Desai -- I thought his performance last week really showed off his vocals.  This week, he was okay...but I didn't love it. 

Michael Sarver --He was better this week for me but I don't see him winning this competition.  Simon seems to agree.  The judges when as far as calling it "corny".  I just didn't think it was a great performance.

Lil Rounds --This genre is up her alley.  I love her voice, her energy...she was one of the best tonight so far.  The judges thought she could've done better though.

Adam Lambert -- He wanted to do this song justice...and I think he got the job done!  His voice is really pretty.  I'm also loving the make-over...the suit, the slick back hair...kinda Elvis-like, huh?

Danny Gokey -- I like his raspy voice, but I didn't think he really stood out from the rest tonight.  He was not better than Adam Lambert.  I agree 100% with Kara, the new judge, when she said "I thought you were good tonight, but not great".

Allison Iraheta --Wow!  What a big voice!  There's nothing little about this 16-year-old.  I think she was one of the best tonight...without a doubt.

Who's going home tomorrow?  I think Megan Joy Corkrey may be sent home tomorrow.  I really like her voice..but she was off-pitch at times.  

*Side note: Is anybody else wondering what Smokey Robinson does to look so good?  He's 69 years old!!!  He looks amazing!!!

Breakdancing baby

I know this is an old clip...but if you haven't seen it...you have to check it out. This 2 year-old Bboy, at the time, is nothing short of a prodigy. I was so impressed. He has more videos on youtube that are amazing, considering his age and skill level.

Sin Nombre looks like an interesting flick. Has anyone seen it? It's produced by buddies Diego Luna and cutie-pie Gael García Bernal. I'll have to check it out soon.

...because Arianna has arrived.  This little girl is too cute for words!  My favorite is when she throws her little head back. 

Why would A-Rod pay for sex?

Why would a man like A-Rod be linked to high-priced madam, Kristin Davis, when he could probably get any girl he likes? I'm really confused by this one. Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer? I get it...to a certain degree. But pretty boy, Alex Rodriguez? I don't understand it! When will he stop embarrassing himself, his children, his ex-wife, his teammates, his fans?  Ugh.

American Idol sends home...

...Alexis Grace.  I'm surprised.  I thought Michael Sarver was going home for sure.

Live Blogging: American Idol

So, I'm watching American Idol again and the contestants are getting some assistance from Randy Travis.  Now, I'm not a big country music fan...so I may not be the best person to judge...but here's my humble opinion on their performances:

Michael Sarver --I thought he was okay, but not outstanding.

Allison Iraheta --Even though it's country music night, she added a rock twist to her song and made it her own.

Kris Allen --The judges loved his performance but I thought it was a little boring. 

Lil Rounds --Country is not her genre, that's for sure...but she'll be back next week.

Adam Lambert --The rock guy took a big risk tonight.  He was borderline crazy.  Let's see if it pays off...

Scott MacIntyre --I think he's really talented but too serious for this competition.  I see him going on the road with Placido Domingo...appealing to a more sophisticated ear.

Alexis Grace --I didn't love her performance this week and I'm a little confused with her overall look.  I like the hair but I'm not sure about that dress and heels though.

Danny Gokey --In rehearsal, he kept messing up in front of Travis but by the time he performed tonight, he was great.  This guy is really talented.

Anoop Desai --I really like his voice, it's deeper than I remember it.  I think he was phenomenal!  The judges?  They agreed.  It was even one of Simon's favorite performances of the night.  Go figure.

Megan Joy Corkrey --I really like her original voice.  She's very soulful. 

Matt Giraud --The piano and the vocals were just right tonight! 

Who's packing their bags and going home tomorrow?  I think Scott MacIntyre or Michael Sarver may be done with this competition. 

Trash TV at its best...

...and I'm already addicted. Ruddy and I have been watching Little Miss Perfect for 2 weeks straight...something that I'm not proud of. (In his defense, I had to wrestle him for the remote, since we only have 1 television set in the house.) I think I'm drawn because I can't believe these crazy mothers actually exist and I really feel sorry for the values they're instilling in these little girls. It's against everything I think a little girl should be taught. I mean seriously, how to be sexy at the age of 5? Totally ridiculous and more damaging than these mothers will ever know. It makes me want to shake some sense into them!

I was also wondering, when will they produce Little Mr. Perfect...so he can stroll around in his speedo and show-off his natural beauty to the judges?
